Unit 6 Blog The genre of this text is a non-fiction first-person narrative. Throughout the entirety of this text, we are introduced to the pronouns of: ‘my’, ‘I’, ‘me’, and ‘we’ of which are all first-person pronouns. It is also formed in a travel novel, whose target audience is likely to be those who are interested or genuinely curious about reading and looking into others' first handed thoughts on discovering or seeing something new for the first time. The writer structures their novel in a particularly unique way. They start from the beginning and continue in chronological order, however, the first paragraph is much longer compared to the others. By doing this, the author is highlighting a specific factor of the story. In the first paragraph, the author goes into detail about the different names of ‘hoagies’, creating a longer paragraph.
