Throughout the entirety of this text the mood has changed completely. This was shown through figurative language. In the first paragraph the writer uses descriptive language in describing the ambience and visual aids of nature in a passionate way. When the writer describes the clouds to have ‘drama’ it leaves the reader with a picture of defined, big, and beautifully shaped white clouds. The clouds having this effect against the mountains and grass creates a beautiful picture in the reader's head. The mood that is taken away from this is pristine and stunning, the grand intense detail drawn to the clouds accentuates this.
As the text continues the mood alters, it goes from animated to misfortune. What is being described is nothing compared to before. The writer uses the phrase ‘dust in sunlight’ which affects the reader into automatically feeling dirty. The reader is also left with the inference that the sunlight is hidden beauty, the dust is covering and disguising natural beauty. In addition the phrase, ‘months old dirt’ is showing how this area of land is not well maintained and equipped. Which also further expands on how something that, is what originally could have been beautiful, can be destroyed within the actions of humans. The types of chemicals and drugs that are then explained are those of which humans possess. This affects the reader's thoughts into thinking that things are taken away and damaged by the actions of humans.
The final effect on the reader is that the intentionally predetermined delightful and appealing place was not how the writer thought it was going to be. This is shown through the descriptive writing in the first paragraph on what the writer had originally thought it was going to be. While their inference is accentuated and highlighted in the second paragraph when it describes the first and unkempt environment of the place. Additionally the figurative languages effect on the reader in the second paragraph. The writer describing how the sunlight hid in the dust shows how they clinged onto the original intent of Kashmir, but is left disappointed in what the writer goes to find out what actually lies there.
In AO1 the goal that is entitled to be achieved is a complete understanding of the text. The context of this blog does not fully accomplish that. This blog produces a ‘clear reference to characteristic features.’ Words like ‘mood’, ‘figurative/ descriptive language’, and ‘inference’ were used in referring to the text. But failed to elaborate on what specific types of figurative language that was being used, and so on. Next time try using buzzwords like ‘noun’, ‘adjective’, and ‘metaphor’ to enhance your writing, leaving the readers thinking you see and understand the deep meanings of what you read. This blog shows a ‘clear understanding of the text.’ It refers to the audience and makes clear points on the meaning and context of what they read. With that being said, the overall marking of AO1 is 3 marks.
ReplyDeleteAO3 measures the analysis, form, and structure. This blog has some strengths and weaknesses when it comes to this. While the analysis is clear to me, the writer of the blog, it is tricky to know if it gets through to other readers. It is effective when in the blog it states phrases like this, ‘affects the reader..’ Within saying this, it is identifying that you are about to analyze and dig deeper into what was previously stated. It is clear that this blog has, ‘some appropriate selection of elements of form…’ While this blog does cover some literary devices and speaks about some of the settings and themes it fails to elaborate fully on those aspects. Making it fall into that category. This blog has fully covered, in detail, how the style of writing relates to the readers. This blog also includes indication phrases like; ‘affects the reader’, ‘leaves the reader with’, ‘the reader's thoughts and, ‘in the reader's head.’ Buzz-phrases like these are very powerful and effective when it comes to specifying one of the key elements. It also has clear designated transitions of evidence and discusses the full purpose with elaborate explanations that follow. Going forth, this section has been graded a 3 meaning that the total marks are 13marks out of 25. There is a lot of progress to be made, but with keywords and further explaining, it will happen.
